  • Moving a forum to another account/server

Actually, if you click export and then go directly in phpMyAdmin, you may only get the table structure and no data depending on the installation of that software.

Complete instructions for moving your database to another server is located here:

Instructions on backing up your database are here:

There are also instructions on restoring the database located here:

These instructions work in both 2.3.5 and 3.0

Moving a forum to another account/server

Hello. I am wonderign how to move my currently vB 2.3.5 forum into another forum. Is this the right steps?

    1) Go to phpMyAdmin and click export. Don't click anything else after it, then just click go.

Here's my first question now. Then, I get this huge list of coding. Do I need to copy this to a file and save it with a special extension?

Let's say I did save it with a special extension.

Then, I download all the stuff on my current vB through FTP client.

Now, I upload the stuff I downloaded to my server2/account2 after fixing the config.php file.

I create the same mysql name, except this was is called domain2_forums instead of domain1_forums (I'm talking cPanel here.) Then I goto phpmyadmin, then go to SQL and browse through and upload that special database file?

Is this the right way without any flaws?

    Thank you.
