  • Logging Out

My board sometimes does not log me out when I wish to do so to
log in under another user name (different e-mail address).
I can't even predict which user name will log in at any given time.

I don't wish to log in as the board's main administrator. In fact, I was
surprised that the user name I use to log into the board's control panel
is used when logging into the board. When installing the board I never
assumed that the very same user name would be one of my user names
on the board. Now people can have half of what they need to get into my
control panel (the other half being the password).

So what I did was create a user with adminstrative "powers". But when
logging in the main administrator is what logs on (user name I used to
install vbulletin.) On top of that, when I do try to log out, I come back to
the page to find that is still says "welcome back username"

I must have two cookies? I have only found one and deleted (if I am looking in
the right place (windows/cookies). Same result. Lastly, I am a member of this
board, plus the vb at www.hostingmatters.com. Does this make a difference?

I await your wisdom on this matter.

      Netscape

I am using the latest version of vbulletin 2, still in beta.
I am also using Netscape 4.5. I tried Netscape 6, but it
is real buggy. If you recommend I get or use 6 then I will.
Or any other browser out there. I also have i.e. 5 and
      Opera 5.

        Cookie Problem

I am wonderin if this is solely a Netscape problem (both 4.5 and 6.0)?
My board seems to work find with IE 5 and Opera.
I can log in and out with those. Anyone have the same problem logging out
        with Netscape?

          in ns6, go to:

tasks --> privacy and Security --> Cookie Manager --> Stored Cookies

delete all cookies from the vbulletins

ironically, i have problems with ie5 and logging out on these forums, non in mozilla/ns6.01

this usually happens for the browser you use the most, and the cookie files get corrupted.

          [edit]

i just tried again, and it works fine. I am a member of a few vB's
