    John Look At This

    John:

I just noticed that the table is screwed up here.

Just thought you should see it.

    John:

You still need to look at the above link to the thread. There are others like it where the width of the <td> tag is variable and depends on the context of the message as to how wide the table is in various parts of the thread.

      this is NOT a bug

      Parker

This isn't a bug. John had the showthread template designed in a way where each post is a table of its own. This means that a) it loads faster (because each post is independent), and b) if one of the posts has a code quote or an image that make it exceed the width of the page, this doesn't cause the entire thread to exceed the width of your screen, but only the aforesaid post.

Those two are advantages, but of course the disadvantage is that the tables will not align perfectly if one of them exceeds the screen width (which is what you are seeing).

By the way, the default design is to have all the posts in one table, each in a separate table row. So you can either leave it like that (if you want all the posts perfectly aligned), or change it like John did (if you don't want one post to cause an entire thread to exceed the screen, and the thread to load faster for reading).

What's wrong with this page? I have looked at it in netscape and IE and it looks fine.

                John:

Now that I realize that this is a feature and not a bug nevermind. It appears to be working as designed.

                Thanks anyway,
