thousand moderators in 1 form??? UBB Import

Just migrated from UBB 5.47 to VB 1.15 HELP!

Ok, it seemed to go soothly, but I have a mess on my hands.

One of my forums now has a HUGE amount of moderators listed. I can't imaging deleting them individually. literally, thousands.
    http://www.curvemag.com/forum/

and no posts are listed :(

any help is greatly appreciated. Would be happy to just empty tables in VB and try again, on an empty DB.

Well, I tried re-importing (supposedly clearing data) and this is what happened.

But allt he forums ARE there, in the control panel.

Is it possible someone could help me directly? (ie fix it in CP?) Would ask for a VB moderator or admin.

It also somehow corrupted my UBB. In a very strange way. am trying to fix that now too :)

still excited about the upgrade, though ;)

Ok, I guess it was stressful on my UBB but after going through all those old admin steps, we are back in UBB business.

Now, we want to be in VB business!

as it only reads tyhe files from UBB I don't see how it could have corrupted them...

did you have forums set up as private forums in UBB? You might need to go into the CP and open them to the public.

                holy crap!

that's a new one on me!

the best way to get rid of it is to run a mysql line command deleted all your mods and reassigning them properly in the vB CP.

                      sorry, one more thought.

Can someone tell me how to empty the DB completely? (members and topics and posts.)

I have double posts and topics of everything. <pulling hair>

the first thing to do is install phpmyadmin, can't remember url do a search here for it or in google.com to find it. That will help you empty the database and control stuff by hand much easier.

                          that's where to get phpMyAdmin.

it's an extremely useful tool, just make sure to .htaccess the folder you install it in. :)

telent or ssh into your server, go to root, open mysql into the forum db, and run a query something like:
DELETE * FROM usergroup WHERE usertitle = Moderator
now, i'm very tired from working on my database all night, so please let someone else confirm this query before you try it:)

ok. I installed phpmyadmin (and password protected the directory)

I go to the DB in question, and I see these tables. I don't see one ofr moderators.

do I simply delete all of those to empty all of the db?

if you want to start over, doing a clean import, select the database name on the left and do a "drop database".

it will clear ALL the info out of the database, leaving it empty. Then you can reimport the data from your UBB.

1 question, though. You *are* shutting down your UBB while doing the import, right?
