mySQL Question.

    We have mySQL running as a process, and have been told to change it to a threaded application instead. I dont know much about mySQL at all so I was wondering how to go about changing this. Thanks,

          Then all you should have to do is recompile MySQL with the threading enabled. All Linux systems come with a compiler.

          Or, if you prefer to use binary, check out http://www.mysql.com and see if they have a threaded version available for download.

          I always compile my own. {shrug}

              Has it helped at all?

                Yes John... We seemed to have fixed things finally :) After upgrading the processors to Dual 550's, and re-building our db each week things have begun to speed up quite conciderably.

                  Glad you have got it fixed. Was it using MySQL with the threading enabled that helped, or was it a combination of all the factors?

                    I would have to say that it was a combination of everything. We are still working on using vB to its full potential though, but we are a lot more happier with the preformace after doing all that is listed above.
