    vBulletin Project Tools 1.0.1 Released

    vBulletin Project Tools 1.0.1 Released

vBulletin Project Tools 1.0.1 is a maintenance release to our first vBulletin add-on. It contains a number of bug fixes since the release of 1.0.0 a month ago.

Some of the bugs fixed include:
    • 22557 - "Overview: Timeline Entries" setting overrides "Project View: Timeline Entries" setting when set to 0
    • 22458 - "Can View Others' Issues" permission unnecessarily required for an issue type to be visible
    • 22460 - Uploading an attachment causes quick reply text to be lost without a warning
    • 22549 - Page navigation touches issue list table in Opera
    • 22700 - Project counters not rebuilt when moving an issue to a different project
    • 22422 - "Magic selects" placed incorrectly in Opera

See a full list of bugs fixed between Project Tools 1.0.0 and 1.0.1

Additionally, if you are using vBulletin 3.6.8, projects shown on the forum list will be shown in the subforum list when necessary.

    Upgrading/Installing Project Tools

Upgrades and new installations of the Project Tools follow the same process: upload the files and import the XML. After this, you will see a message that your upgrade or install was successful. For full instructions on how to upgrade or install, please see this manual entry.

    About Project Tools

Project Tools is a versatile add-on product that enhances vBulletin with project management functionality, empowering your community members to create projects, contribute to tasks, submit issues and view progress of projects. Seamless integration with vBulletin ensures maximum usability, and an administration suite within the vBulletin control panel allows full customization of projects, issues, tasks and user permissions.

Project Tools is ideal for any community that shares a common goal - from developing software, keeping track of servers, writing a play, exhibiting at a trade show or building a car!

Note that to install Project Tools, you must be running vBulletin 3.6.6 or newer!

    Pricing and Ordering

Project Tools is priced at $50, which includes one year of software updates. The renewal fee for an additional year of updates is $20. Existing customers with active vBulletin licenses can purchase Project Tools immediately via the members' area.

vBulletin 3.6.6 or newer is required to install Project Tools.

Template Changes since Project Tools 1.0.0

Templates with Mandatory Changes Since Project Tools 1.0.0

A mandatory change indicates that functionality will be explicitly broken if you do not apply this template change. This could be as small as a broken image or as significant as data loss. Always make sure these changes are applied as soon as possible.

Remember, you only need to manually apply changes to templates that you have explicitly customized. Use the "Find Updated Templates" option and cross reference with this list (if you are upgrading from PT 1.0.0). We recommend reverting your customized templates and recustomizing them to guarantee you have all the necessary changes.
    • pt_issue
      • Mandatory Change: Changes to allow a more flexible text editor size. (Quick reply will be very small if you don't do this.)
      • Changed onSubmit to onsubmit for XHTML compliance.
      • Changed all <label> tags to include the "for" attribute that is necessary for Internet Explorer 6.
      • Add a JavaScript alert if quick reply has text when an attachment is uploaded (as the text would be lost).

Templates with Non-Mandatory Changes Since Project Tools 1.0.0

Your Project Tools installation will not be broken if you don't apply these changes, but small bugs may be fixed and new functionality may be available by applying these changes. We recommend you apply these changes in the same way that you apply mandatory changes.
    • pt_checkbox_optgroup
Changed all <label> tags to include the "for" attribute that is necessary for Internet Explorer 6.

    • pt_checkbox_option
Changed all <label> tags to include the "for" attribute that is necessary for Internet Explorer 6.

    • pt_issuelist
Change the page navigation area (top and bottom) into a table/float-less system to eliminate a rendering issue in Opera.

    • pt_postissue
      • Changes to support a more flexible editor size.
      • Changed all <label> tags to include the "for" attribute that is necessary for Internet Explorer 6.

    • pt_postreply
      • Changes to support a more flexible editor size.
      • Changed all <label> tags to include the "for" attribute that is necessary for Internet Explorer 6.

    • pt_search
      • Added padding to all fieldsets for consistency.
      • Changed hardcoded CSS background-color attribute.

    • pt_timeline
Size attribute in an HTML tag specified twice. See bug #22632.
