  • Error Upgrading From Beta 19 To Beta 20

The upgrade is resulting in white pages on all URL links and producing the following error:

    Timestamp: 12/10/2012 8:13:44 PM
Error: The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range. The character encoding of the page must to be declared in the document or in the transfer protocol.

I get a 500 server error when I go to that link. What version of PHP and MySQL are you using on the server? Have you uploaded the default .htaccess file provided?

      PHP Version: 5.4.8
      MySQL Version: 5.5.28

Yes, on the default .htaccess file.

I've never encountered this issue with other vB5 upgrades. Nothing other than the requisite files and upgrade script have been changed from Beta 19 to Beta 20.

The second error has nothing to do with vBulletin. We don't use ioncube.

For the first error see: http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBV-6183. Which should be fixed in Beta 21.

So, the only way to get the forums functional prior to Beta 21 is to uninstall all products?

          - - - Updated - - -

Resolved. Required uninstall of products not native to core installation.

Thank you for the help, Wayne.
