http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBV-12426

This topic came up on Vbulletin forum and I believe redesigning the header is necessary in order to add several functions correctly without allowing the default style to look dull or goofy. The first thing that appeals to customers is the look and feel of the forum software, mainly its default look.

What is needed:
1. I think redesigning the header to fit better options is needed, also in order to relocate the search bar. See 1st attachment for a rough draft.
2. The current location for the search bar isn't great and if a user wants to add an ad banner, it won't look good b/c of the vb logo + the search bar. Logos now days when it comes to responsive design are added to the header.
3. I like the idea of the content of the forum to scroll under the main header as you scroll down, see it in action on IGN http://www.ign.com/
as you scroll down.
4. Another improvement is to allow the search bar to expend as you click on it, an idea that Behance used ex https://www.behance.net/joblist
click on the search bar
5. I also think a pop up window for the notification is needed and to look more appropriate for the default design. See 2nd attachment or the live version on my site http://www.nihonomaru.com/
Bug with responsive design
1. I just tried to test the responsive design by trying to resize the browse to fit smaller resolution and then expend it back and the 2nd post style wasn't restored to its default look, see http://i.imgur.com/AlVJquW.png
