Add user desktop/landing page

As a regular user, after logging on I would like to be presented with either the standard page as is, or with a page of my own choosing, (created in site builder or as part of my profile).


This would be my user desktop. On it I would have various modules, who,s online, latest activity etc. I could add my favourite rss feeds or weather reports, news sites or whatever I choose. And because it is my desktop, I would get notifications from my Vbulletin website and be able to respond. I could keep an eye on my watched topics. Infact I could just see at a glance any activity within the site because it would auto refresh until of course, I log off.
I could even include a google search option (which will open up in its own frame) so I never have to leave the page. I would see if any of my subscribers/friends have logged on or if any comments/responses have been made because the site is live all of the time. The list can go on.

I am pleased the idea is causing some pause for thought. It is a good idea.
The ability to see all and control all from one page is a lifesaver. End your navigation worries, channel it all to the desktop and be done with it. Everything you choose to be part of is in its own ticker, (as in live ticker, a bunch of them nestled in their own tidy modules). Delivering responses, who read what, he liked that, she got banned. This video is watched a lot, many people post here. New features, improvement requests, bugs, show stoppers, this is a show starter. This is connect. Sort this one out and it could possibly propel VB 5 into a better and brighter light.

It does sound like I am trying to sell it to you and I am. I think it would be a turn around, maybe not a complete turn around but a step up. I know VB 5 already has infrastructure (albeit quirky) built in. Just needs a target.

And don't forget to do the other 100+ things too. And more importantly, that CKeditor fix for all versions is a must.

Or just call me cheeky and I will go away.

I think it is an interesting idea for a modification, but I'm not sure it should be a default option in the software.

Thanks for those encouraging words, I think it has great potential. Even as a mod, it would be a nice addition although I would prefer it to be built into the VB5 package.

Similar yes but more dynamic. igoogle is a good aid to illustrate the idea. Thanks for that.
