  • Upgrade Problems 4.2.5 -> 5.6.4

    Hi there,

I'm running a larger board (57.000 threads, 720.000 posts) on 4.2.5 Suite. I want to upgrade to the latest VB5 version and so I'm creating a test environment.

When upgrading, I got the following error after some time:

An error has occurred with your database. Please contact vBulletin Support for assistance.
    Module: 505rc1, Step 4 Database Error:-1
Duplicate entry '71419-0' for key 'userid_nodeid'

    Query:
    ### vBulletin Database Alter ###
    ALTER TABLE vbmoderator
    ADD UNIQUE INDEX userid_nodeid (userid,nodeid)

    Script: 505rc1
    Step: 4

Any hints to solve this problem and continue with the upgrade?

    Thanks
    Andreas

You would have to manually delete duplicate records in the vbmoderator table. The step is providing an index to prevent duplicate records here.

I can't identify duplicate records for sure. Userid and forumid are different on each record. I have a lot of records with the same userid and nodeid (nodeid=0). Are duplicate records those with the same userid and nodeid?

vBulletin 5 does not use forumid... when userid and nodeid are the same on both records, it is a duplicate.

if they are all 0 then you probably had an error on a previous step. 0 for nodeid is an invalid value.

Ok, I deleted all records with nodeid 0 and will try to continue tomorrow. Thanks a lot so far!
