  • vBulletin 5.6.2 Upgrade Issues.

While upgrading to 5.6.2 I got below message. What could be the solution?

    Fatal Error Occurred

xml error Not well-formed (invalid token), on line 1 on phar:///home/bengarcb/public_html/forum/core/vb/vb.phar/xml/import.php : 160

    Script: final
    Step: 16

  • #2
Step 16 of Final Upgrade is importing themes into the system. If you do not use the themes, you can delete the contents of /core/install/themes and run the upgrade again.

Your phrases either didn't upgrade or were not rebuild during the upgrade process. You should manually /core/install/vbulletin_language.xml from within the AdminCP under Languages & Phrases -> Upload / Download Language. Your site will need to be in "Debug Mode" to do this.

Can you guide step by step please.
        1. Click on Languages & Phrases in the AdminCP.
        2. Click on Upload / Download Language
        3. Click on the Choose File button.
        4. Navigate to the /core/install/vbulletin_language.xml file on your desktop.
        5. Click the open (or whatever it says in your OS) in the dialog box.
        6. Back in the AdminCP, click the Import Button.

It is all fairly self explanatory if you click on the options in the AdminCP as originally directed. If you don't understand something there is almost always inline help obtained simply by clicking on the question mark to the right of the option.

If you need additional support, you can purchase ticket support and someone can import the language file for you. Or you can purchase a professional upgrade to complete your upgrade.

Thank you so much Wayne. I tried uploading the "vbulletin_language.xml" file but I am getting below error

          "Error Invalid SQL: DELETE FROM phrase WHERE languageid = -10;

          exception_trace"

Make sure your database user has permission to delete from the database. This is a required permission for vBulletin to actually work properly. You will need to ask your hosting provider to help you provide that permission.

The user has got all permission. Please see the below image.

This is how the Admincp looks right now.

          Please help.

IF the user already had delete permissions, what did you do to resolve the phrase issue?

I freshly installed VB 5.6.2 with connecting the old database. Run the tools.php. And then uploaded the language file. It just worked.
