    Security Alert!

    The /core/install directory still exists.

This poses a security risk, so please delete that directory immediately. You cannot access the control panel until you do so.

You need to delete the /core/install folder from your server.

You need to restore the index.php file.

The actual URL of the admncp folder is admincp/index.php

The last post means that you have not properly implemented URL Rewrites on your server. This happens frequently when steps are skipped from the installation instructions in the vb5readme.html file.

            https://forum.vbulletin.com/forum/vb...etin-5-connect
After installing vBulletin 5, my site is unformatted
This means that URL Rewriting is not working on your site. Possible causes include:
            • htaccess.txt has not been renamed to .htaccess (the leading period is important)
            • mod_rewrite is not installed for Apache 2.4
            • URL Rewrite is not installed for IIS 8.5+
            • The server configuration for NGINX has not been updated. See the file for your version of PHP within the do_not_upload folder.
            • AllowOverride is not allowed in the Apache configuration file.
Your hosting provider can help you get URL Rewrites working on your site.

that mean htaccess.txt must replace wit.htaccess.

You can restore the database on the server (your hosting provider can help with this) and then upgrade that database to 5.6.0 using the upgrade.php file in the /core/install directory.

You will need to upgrade again. The database can and will change with every release. That is the entire reason we have upgrade scripts.
