  • Login link for adsense crawler

What would be the path directly to login to provide adsense? I have a hidden forum i want to give adsense permission to, but i need to link directly to the login box and not quite sure how to do this.

Add /auth/login-form to the end of your forum URL.

Wayne Luke The Google Adsense crawler for private forums needs a login URL, and access parameters, that for Vbulletin 4 was www.forumaddress.ext/login.php
Using a dedicated account the crawler ca access to the forum as an user, and it can display the advertising.

It seems that VB5 doesn't have a direct login path, how could be resolved this problem?
        Thanks

I don't think it is possible. We don't allow GET Requests to API methods to protect the security of the software. If this is important to you, then you should file an Improvement Request and provide links to the documentation for the requirements.

Wayne Luke Thank you for the reply

Without this, if I insert an Adsense code on the footer of a members only forum, I cannot view any advertising, is it normal? That is dramatic for me!

If Google can't see the content then advertising will be missing. Google views your site as a Guest. We've never explicitly coded for google to have access so if this is important to you, a Feature Request needs to be created.

OK https://tracker.vbulletin.com/vbulle...sues/VBV-20189 it never was a problem because VB4 had the login.php

The lead developer saw your request and believes this is actually possible with the current software (5.6.0 and higher).

You should be able to use the ajax login url for this.

                  http://{mysite}/auth/ajax-login

Use the POST method and the param string of

                  username={username}&password={password}&privacyconsent=1&securitytoken=guest

That would be four variables: username, password, privacyconsent, and securitytoken

The privacyconsent param is only required if that feature is enabled and triggered by the googlebot (but should be entirely harmless otherwise)

Let me know if this helps.

Trying to follow this example, but I may be doing something wrong - I have used a valid, dedicated username and password with the proper permissions for the forum, and tested that it works. Have I not created the other string entries properly? The parameters re-order themselves based on alphabetic order; I originally entered them in the sequence shown above in post #9. Here's a screen grab of the adsense page:

It should work. However, this was originally written for 5.5.6 and the login URL changed in 5.6.0. That is when we refactored the login functionality to remove the iframe.

Use: /auth/ajax-login at the end of your URL now.
