    Brouser says that this site is unreachable...
    The domain name you are using is valid and has existing DNS records? Your hosting provider can help you with DNS setup.

        You should be able to access the site via IP Address or the temporary domain provided by your hosting provider when you signed up. You can install vBulletin using this information and update the URL later in the AdminCP.

            Does your server meet the requirements as outlined here: https://forum.vbulletin.com/forum/vb...m-requirements

            Especially the required PHP version and libraries listed. You can view what is installed by placing a file called info.php on your site. It should have the following contents:

            Code:
            <?php
            phpinfo();
            ?>
            Load info.php in the browser. Scroll down the list provider and make sure the listed libraries each have their own section. If any are missing then you should contact your hosting provider to get them enabled. If you are using a cPanel based host, then you may be able to enable them within cPanel using the Multi PHP Manager under Software.

                That doesn't mention any of the PHP libraries. You have to follow the steps in my previous reply to see if you have all the REQUIRED PHP libraries available.

                A 500 server error is a generic error but it generally means a PHP error. When installing, the most common PHP errors are that a required library is missing.

                      It appears you have all the libraries needed. I do not know why you're getting a 500 server error. Ask your hosting provider what the actual error is within the error logs.

                          Error is "File "/home/<xxx>/public_html/forum/core/install/install.php" is writeable by group" So your host is preventing file execution, which some do. Use chmod command (you can do this in an FTP client like Filezilla or the command line, or if your host is helpful, ask them to do it) all .php files chmod to 644 and all folders chmod to 755.

                              I get a file not found.

                              You cannot use NGINX unless your host modifies the server configuration with the rewrite rules located in the do_not_upload directory. The file is called nginx_php7.vhost. Not sure why you said you were using Apache able. The error on your page is generated by NGINX.
