vBulletin 5.5.2 Fresh Install
Im doing a fresh install of vbulletin 5.5.2 on my webserver. I did the makeconfig.php file installation through www.%website%.com/%forumroute/% where you enter the database values and when I go to the install directory the whole site shows up as a blank page. What am I doing wrong with my install?Tags: None

A blank page usually indicates a PHP Error. What version of PHP are you using? Do you have iconv installed? That should be installed by default on PHP 7.1 and higher. We do not support versions of PHP lower than 7.1 and PHP 7.4 has not been certified yet.Translations provided by Google.

It is a required PHP Library that vBulletin uses: https://www.php.net/manual/en/book.iconv.php
It would be listed in your phpinfo() output. If you don't know what that is, you need to make sure it is available by discussing this with your hosting provider. All required PHP libraries are listed here:
Your server must meet the following requirements before vBulletin can be installed on the machine. Most shared-environment hosting providers meet these qualifications already. If you're unsure, you can always use vBulletin Cloud (http://www.vbulletin.com/en/vbulletin-cloud/) to host your vBulletin website. Minimum RequirementsTranslations provided by Google.

Its giving a 500 server error. Unfortunately, this is the most generic error in the history of generic errors.
You'll need to open a support ticket and provide SFTP access to the server so we can determine what the issue is. The link is in the footer of this page.Translations provided by Google.
