    Are you sure you have uploaded the .htaccess file (if using Apache) or the web.config file on IIS?

    You must upload the version included in the vBulletin Download Package.

            link to admincp:
            http://www.sparportal.de/core/admincp/

            =>

            Security Alert!

            install.php still remains in the /install/ directory.

            This poses a security risk, so please delete that file immediately. You cannot access the control panel until you do so.

            Set link to /core:
            http://www.sparportal.de/core

              "Set link to /core:"
              path
              $./core

              http://www.sparportal.de/core

              I think that the right path to /core is set in the "config.php"

              the /install/ directory have i deleted
              but it doesn't work

              the same mesage com when get the admincp:
              http://www.sparportal.de/admincp
              "That action could not be completed. Please try again, and if this occurs again please contact the system administrator and tell them how you got this message."

              -----

              so i changed in the comfig.php the core file directly in
              $config['baseurl_core'] = 'http://www.sparportal.de/core';

              but now only a white page comes
              the complet forum doesn't work.

                Do you know for sure if your web server is Apache?

                  no ADMINCP

                  I am having a similar issue. My error message is:
                  Forbidden

                  You don't have permission to access /vb5/admincp/ on this server.

                  if I change directory request to .../vb5/core/admincp it opens the admin panel, but there are serious issues with other parts of forum ... no auth directory for example.

                  I have seen the comments about and .htaccess file, but I do not see one in my download, or is there a chance I have a bad setting of directory(ies) in one of my config files?

                  thanks for any help
                  Jim

                        What is in your error_logs (if you don't know where they are, ask your host)?

                          I have the same issue addressed in separate thread. Have you tried .../core/admincp ... I find a running version there, did not solve all my issues, but let me start on setup

                            My hoster said to this:

                            php.ini

                            in this php.ini stands:

                            display_errors = On
                            log_errors = On
                            error_log = /var/www/vhosts/sparportal.de/phperrors.log

                            the php.ini is now here
                            http://www.sparportal.de/php.ini

                            but there is no phperrors.log (until now)

                              Need to see the server error logs to find out what the cause of the blank page is. Without that we're shooting in the dark.

                              Note that you should never be using /core/ in the browser address bar other than for running installs and upgrades.
