  • Problem with upgrade to vb5 - stuck on 3.8.7

    Hi,

I am trying to upgrade a board and i followed the instructions of 1st raising the version to 3.8.0 before starting the update to vb5.

The upgrade went well till i got stuck with the following message that i attach.

If the upgrade log is ok in the database the process seems to be stuck in the execution of 400a1 step 89.

The problem seems to be that the script is not able to create some kind of folder... but i don't see the point of the script where it does... to give the permissions of create myselft the folder.

Haven't find any previous references to this error atm.

    thx

    Attach:

Press the button below to begin the upgrade
    from 3.8.7 to 5.0.0 Beta 15

I press and following message appears:

    Unexpected Text:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?><?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?><error>No se pudo crear el directorio en el sistema de archivos para almacenar tus archivos adjuntos.</error>

The problem is the software doesn't have permission to write to your attachment path.

Prior to the upgrade, did you move servers or get rid of any folders?

      The process have been.

1 - Upload the vb5 files to an empty directory.
2 - Upload several directories from the old install to the folder including the attachments directory and some with specific media data to be used in the styles.
3 - After seeing the possible problem with permissions 0777 have been assigned recursively to the directory attachments, message haven changed.

Which path is the one that needs the permissions then? Or the attachment directory should be moved/refered somewhere?

Where exactly did you upload the old folders to? The core directory or the root directory?
