  • error creating config file

During upgrade, the configuration builder (which is spelled wrong in the header by the way) gives me the following error when I submit info: Filename cannot be empty in /home/themac/public_html/core/install/makeconfig.php on line 252

  • #2
At this time you'll need to manually edit the config.php files or use the makeconfig.php in this JIRA issue here:

but I can't get past the makeconfig.php page in the setup. Is there anything after that page that is needed?

If you manually edit the files and rename them to config.php as specified in the vb5readme.html file, makeconfig.php will never load.

when uploading VB5 files to the server, should I first delete all the VB4 files?

          • #6
Yes. You won't want to delete your custom* or attachment directories though.

There are multiple config.php files. Which ones do I need to manually update?

I manually entered the information and confirmed it with my host. But now everything on the site is blank. I can't get into the upgrade.php or the admincp or even the index.php It's just a blank screen

I reloaded the files to the server and can see things again but get the error message "Couldn't read config file config.php" I confirmed with my host that the settings are correct. Any ideas?

It would probably be worth raising a support ticket so we can have a look.
We'll need site URL, database credentials and FTP credentials. Please put these in the "Sensitive Data" field. Also please include a link to this topic.
