Thank you it was a timing problem as you suggested.

Here's the response from tech support at UK2

    Hello Kevin,

Thank you for contacting UK2.net Technical Support. I would be glad to help you with this issue. I have added a php.ini file to your account and made the changes in there regarding the timeout length. Also our system administrators have raised the Apache timeout length has been raised for a little while. You should now be able to install the application.

If you have any more questions please contact us again.

Also, check your error_logs (if you don't know where they are, ask your host) and see if there is anything in there.

Yes tables are made 208 of them.
Wait timeout was 60 and has now been set to 240.
The time it sits at stage 2 has been over 2 hours but will retry with new settings.

Step 2 takes awhile to complete and doesn't have any real feedback while processing. When you look in the database using phpMyAdmin are there any tables listed there?

Also ask your hosting provider what the wait_timeout in MySQL is set to. It should be at least 120 seconds. The default MySQL ships with is 86400 seconds or 24 hours.

When starting to install it came up with a script to fill these 2 files after I had renamed them. Hope this image helps for requirements.

Does your server meet the software requirements?

Did you configure the two config files correctly?
    • The one in the main directory usually only needs to be renamed.
    • The one in core/includes needs to be renamed and filled with the correct database info.

When trying to install to a clean directory it stalls on stage 2.
