The instructions are current as of April 4, 2016.
This post can also be accessed from the shorted URL: www.vbulletin.com/go/fbconnect
You must first have your own personal Facebook account and be logged into it.
These are the same instructions for VB4, VB5. and VB Cloud. Note- You must be running VB 4.2.3 or higher or VB 5.1.10 or higher for FB Connect to work.
1. Go to the Facebook Developer's Page at: https://developers.facebook.com
Note: If you've never created a FB App before you will need to register as a developer. Facebook will need to verify some information with you. Follow the instructions they give you.

Once you are a developer, or if you've already created an app before simply choose Add A New App from the My Apps drop down menu.

2. Choose the Website type app

3. Ignore the "Quick Start" and choose the Skip and Create App ID option on the top right.

4, For Display Name give the app a name. Under Category choose Apps for Pages. Then press the Create App ID button.

5. There may be a security check at this point, if so, complete it.
6. You will now be on the page you see below. Click the Show button to see the App Secret. Copy the App ID and App Secret to a safe place, you will need these later. (You may be prompted to confirm your password, this is normal.)
7. Now click on Settings on the side menu. Under App Domains enter just the domain name (no www or anything else) of your forum. Enter a valid email address for Contact Email. Finally click on +Add Platform.

8. Select Website as the Platform Type.

9. Enter the URL to your form for the Site URL Do not include forum.php or any other specific page in the URL. This should match your Forum URL setting in VB4 or vBulletin URL setting in VB5 optionally followed by an ending slash /. (Check in Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details if you are unsure.) Save Changes when done.

Click the blue Save Changes button.
10. Now click App Review on the side menu. On this new page click the No/Yes slider belowto the "Make [App Name] Public?" question to change it from No to Yes.

11. You will get a prompt confirming you want to do this. Click Confirm. You should see a green circle next to your app name confirming it is live. It will take several minutes to be completely public across all Facebook's servers. Do not submit your app for Approval. It is not necessary for this type of app and Facebook won't approve it.
12. Now go to your Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Facebook Options. Paste in the App ID and App Secret you saved earlier on into the appropriate boxes.

13. Go through the rest of the Facebook settings making any changes you want. Note- Not all features are supported yet on VB5. Save Changes when done.
At this point you are done. Give it a few minutes then try connecting with Facebook. As the App Owner you may see a notice when first connecting to Facebook asking you to submit the App for Approval. Do not do this. It is not for this type of app. Anyone else who is not you will not see that message, it will work as normal for them.
