  • How to Re-Organise Display of Articles Manually on Home Page

After migrating from vb4, could not find a way to display articles in manual order. I used the ordering on admin panel but it did not work.

This functionality does not explicitly exist in vBulletin 5. There is an open request in our issue tracker to add this functionality back in. Though if added it would probably apply to all channels and content and not just articles.

This request was posted in 2013!
How long will it be before we get it implemented?
Articles are used to display topics on products and services by companies, not always used as chat posts.

The issue isn't very important to the community going by the low number of votes and the low number of support requests about it. However it is in the highest development queue at the moment.

The change would be pretty impactful since it would require changing every piece of content in the system. As far as the server is concerned, there is no different between a forum post or an article. It treats them all the same. The only thing that changes is in the web client based on how the content is displayed in a specific channel. You can actually move content from articles to forums or blogs or groups if you want.

Not sure how display order prevents creating articles on products and services. Have you thought about using tags and categories to organize your articles? Those would probably make them easier to find for customers.

I need to show articles pinned in order, so customers do not have to search.
in vb5 you can choose in Article Channel Display Module the columns combination, which is excellent. Just adding article display order will be fine. Currently I manually do that by changing the publish date.
