  • [Server Config] trying to setup VB5.x.x as forum under WP site

    Hello,

I am using Ionos as my web host. I have set up a wordpress site as my main content. I want to set up a VB owned site under the /forum folder. I have installed VB 5.x.x (latest build) and I am getting the lack of style sheets and admincp which is indicitave of the .htaccess file. however, I can't just drop in the .htaccess file from the VB folder because wordpress has its own content.
in that file. how do I merge the 2 files to be all inclusive?

the url is http://lees-way.com/forum to VB

Can this be done or am I SOL?

    Thanks
    Sean

Since vBulletin's file is in the /forum/ directory, it won't affect Wordpress. For vBulletin to work properly, you will need to reset the redirect path in the .htaccess file provided. This will allow vBulletin's redirects to work in its directory instead of the redirects provided by Wordpress.

The code is in the .htaccess file already. You just need to edit it to fit your site.

    Code:
    # In some cases where you have other mod_rewrite rules, you may need to remove the
    # comment on the following RewriteBase line and change it to match your folder name.
    # This resets the other mod_rewrite rules for just this directory
    # If your site was www.example.com/forum, the setting would be /forum/
    #RewriteBase /
    Translations provided by Google.
