  • Broken Settings from HTML Character Set Option

    Hello,

    i have entered something wrong in "HTML Character Set Option".
    Since then i get "an error occured" when i log into admincp.

    I think it could be possible to change it in the table "settings"... There are the most settings set up in admincp...

    Where can i set the correct value..? I cannot login...

    Best regards

    Debugging shows me the following:

    Error :Invalid Charset: latin1_swedish_ on line 737 in phar:///www/htdocs/xxx/core/vb/vb.phar/utility/string.php
    Step 0: showErrorPage() called on line 382 in /www/htdocs/xxx/includes/vb5/applicationabstract.php
    Step 1: handleException() called
    Exception API Error
    Controller: search
    Method: getInitialResults
    Error(s):
    array (
    0 =>
    array (
    0 => 'unexpected_error',
    1 => 'Invalid Charset: latin1_swedish_',
    ),
    )

    on line 1040 in /www/htdocs/xxx/includes/vb5/template/runtime.php
    Instead of "latin1_swedish_" it should be UTF-8 or iso-8859-1

      The HTML character set is not a Setting. It is a Language Option.

      It should be [var]UTF-8[/var[ in vBulletin 5. latin1_swedish_XXXX is not a character set. It is a MySQL Collation and would determine the sort order of your queries.

      The HTML Character set is stored in the charset field of the language table in your database. You would have to update it there and delete the language row from your datastore table.

      Code:
      UPDATE {prefix}language SET charset='UTF-8';
      DELETE FROM {prefix}datastore WHERE title='languagecache';
      Replace {prefix} with the value of your table prefix defined in the /core/includes/config.php file.
