  • [Site Builder] What code do I use in sitebuilder in an advertising widget to display a banner without a full URL lookup?

    If I'm placing an advert in an advertising widget in sitebuilder and want to call up an image from a directory containing banners on my own site in /images/ads without doing a full ULR lookup, what code do I use in the widget?

    So my site map is at this location for example:

    /home/mysite/public_html/core/store_sitemap

    I've tried

    div align="center">
    <a href=""_blank">
    <img src="/home/mysite/public_html/images/ads/testad.png"alt=border="0">
    </a>
    </div>

    and I've tried:

    div align="center">
    <a href=""_blank">
    <img src="/public_html/images/ads/testad.png"alt=border="0">
    </a>
    </div>

    I know the location is right but neither displays the ad. So I must have the code wrong. What code do I use in the widget?

    Sorry: Just found my own answer. I just found the following code works. But any other advice welcome.

    <div align="center">
    <a href="" target="_blank">
    <img src="/images/ads/testad.png"alt=border="0">
    </a>
    </div>

    For relative URLs, You would use /images/ads/tested.png or images/ads/tested.png

    The public_html directory is your web root. Browsers cannot see above this directory. So it is your starting point and you only address directories within it.

    When using settings inside the AdminCP, they often use the 'drive root' so you need a complete path from that location.
