    By images I assume you mean attachments.

    Did you clear the cache?

    Did you rebuild the post and forum information?

          Searching around I see many people have had to remove the filedata from their DB..... do I need to truncate these two tables?

            What is the file structure within the attachment directory?

            Are you using a relative or absolute path to store them?

            Can the webserver still see the directories and files within?

                A) See pics below.
                B) absolute
                C) Yes. The posts act like they should show pics in the sense that there is a massive amount of blank space visible, but no pic. If I edit that post I see nothing in the text-editor, but I do see the attached images listed in the attachments box. If I click a size to place one, then save the post, then that one will show back up.

                  3734 rows in filedata tbl
                  3540 = ''
                  193 = null

                  all the most recent attachments made are the null values. Is there a conditional statement that may be off?

                  can i convert the blanks to nulls?

                    Tested on two attachments that don't show, that does nothing

                      I don't think there is any functional difference between an empty string ('') and null on a LONGBLOB format type. Especially since we're not indexing and therefore not selecting based on that field's content. The actual post (and therefore the browser) shouldn't care where the file is located as it references them all through a filedata route with a filedataid. That route would determine where the image is stored and how to retrieve it.

                      However, the browser isn't retrieving the image for some reason. If you look at the Network tab of your Browser's Developer tools what is the response code for the missing images? I am guessing 200 and the browser tries to load it from cache and that is failing for some reason. Have you tried clearing your browser's cache and local storage for your site?

                            There is ZERO html in the the users post related to images ... just the text that was there.

                              Turns out that there was a class added to the images that made them hidden. I dded a few 3rd party modules as I did the DB->fliesystem transfer so I can't be sure it it was them or that when attachments are pulled form the filesystem they have a different style applied? I did too much at once to be able to tell what caused that.
