Hello friends, i buy a mail hosting service from zoho.com for my forum.
My problem is when i set email settings from options menu and email setting in admincp ( smtp host, user, password and protocol) , cant send any email from vbulletin.

Its about some days that im working on it with zoho support team with no result. ofcourse my email account registeron other mail clients like outlook and thunderbird but it doesn’t work on vbulletin.

I have no idea how to solve your issue with the information currently provided. We need some basic information to solve the issue. None has been provided.

If I were to guess, I would say that the encryption selected is the wrong protocol, it isn't the proper version, or the port used in incorrect.

      With SSL :
      smtp host : smtp.zoho.com
      smtp port : 465
      smtp username : [email protected]
      smtp password : mypassword
      smtp secure connection : SSL

      With TLS :
      smtp host : smtp.zoho.com
      smtp port : 587
      smtp username : [email protected]
      smtp password : mypassword
      smtp secure connection : TLS

      I got bellow error :
      PHP Code:
The mailing function returned an error while trying to send the mail.
The following errors were outputted by PHP when attempting to send mail:

Warning553 Unexpected response from SMTP server when ending transmission in .../vb/mail/smtp.php on line 155

I test in VB5.5.4 and 5.5.6, both with above error. my server information is :
      Code:
      PHP version is 7.2.20
      MariaDB : 5 and 10
      Language : English

We don't support MariaDB 5 at all. 10.1 is the minimum supported version.

A 553 error means the email box doesn't exist. “Requested action not taken – Mailbox name invalid”. That is, there’s an incorrect email address into the recipients line. Check all the addresses in the TO, CC and BCC field. There should be an error or a misspelling somewhere.

Do you have a bounce email specified in the Email Options? What email is bouncing?

I am glad you have resolved it. Could be that the server was blocking the SSL port for some reason.
