    The error means that MySQL closed the connection before returning the results of the query. There are a number of reasons that this can happen.
    1. The MySQL max_allowed_packet value is too small. This should be at least four megabytes on modern servers.
    2. The MySQL wait_timeout value is too small. This should be at least 120 seconds.
    3. The MySQL innodb_lock_wait_timeout value is too small. This should be at least 120 seconds.
    4. MySQL needs more memory allocated.
    You may be able to stop the issue temporarily by running these queries:

    truncate table cache;
    If you are storing attachments in the database, you should move these to the file system. To do this log into the AdminCP and go to Attachments -> Attachment Storage Type.
