I mean, what are the chances that I will also never answer again in the bug tracker? it's more or less the same. And I think much more bugs could be handled if you guys forward issues directly to the development team as well. Well, the issue is, that the articles receive a wrong date if you edit it, guess there problem is clear?

But thanks anyway for your clear answer, it helps me to understand how vbulletin works.
Believe it or not, bugs logged by actual customers carry more weight that bugs logged by the support team.

However the main thing, as mentioned, is that if we log it for you then questions come back, we may not be able to answer them.

We also run into the issue that if we log bugs on behalf of customers, it becomes something we have to do each and every time, on demand. This takes us away from dealing with customer issues.

This method is common to many software companies. They won't log bugs for you, they will ask you to log them yourself. It's the most efficient method for all parties, especially the customer.

    Reporting a bug is easy:

    Go here: https://tracker.vbulletin.com/vbulletin5
    Click Report an Issue
    Click Choose Bug
Complete the 'Short Summary", "Description" and "Release" fields.
    Ignore all other fields
    Click "File Issue"

That's all there is to it.

Still unconfirmed. How is this possible?
The CMS is almost useless like this. Isnt there any workaround I could use to make this issue dissapear?

When you edit an unpublished article, update the date before you save it. If the article is already published and visible, the publish date doesn't matter.

If an article is already published, it is visible to all users that can view that channel. The publish date shouldn't change its published status.

Ok, but my actual problem is that, if you change the page from 1 to 2 and then back to 1, the articles are sorted in a completely different manner.
This shouldnt be related to the solution you explained.

                      These are 2 different issues.

                      1. Pagination of articles causing the article order to change.
                      2. The Published Date changing to a month more than current value when you go into edit an article.

Your issue is not related to this topic which is about the unpublished article dates changing when you edit an article. This is why we request that people open their own topics for their issues.

I already opened a bug report for this as you told me, since nobody would take care about it otherwise, and nothing happened anyway

It isn't really about "nobody caring." It is about priorities and impact to be honest. Your issue has most likely occurred since 5.1.0 was released and you're the only one that brought it up right now. So issues that multiple users are worried about get fixed sooner. Then there are other things that come up and need to be fixed that are more urgent. It is a big juggling act to get things through any queue. There are only so many man hours available.

And adding more people to the team can create more problems. Previous project managers did that when vBulletin 5 came out originally. There were something like 12 developers. The current developers are still rewriting code and fixing bugs created by some of them. As well as creating unit tests so we know the fixes work the way they should.

I've asked our QA people to look at your issue so it can get on the developer's queue.
