friends, please: Is it possible to install a totally clean version of the forum and to transfer certain topics from an old forum to this new forum?

    thanks!

No. You should purge the topics you don't want and then upgrade the older database.

      Thank you Wayne !!

      Let's see if I understand ...
      - direct topic transfer is not possible
      - but, I can upgrade the old database with the topics to the new forum. right?

How to do this upgrade operation? Is there a tutorial?

You would perform a standard upgrade on your old vBulletin forum database. You would need to manually delete the content that you don't want.

          Thank you Wayne!

sorry, I do not understand what you mean by "standard upgrade on your old vBulletin forum database"?
is the normal upgrade provided in the manual (https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/upgrade) or is it another operation?

There is only one way to upgrade your forums. The manual describes it.

              Thank you Wayne!

this is the upgrade we normally do when a new version is released.
and in this upgrade, defects that exist in the old database remain after the upgrade.
if there is no other solution, I do not think even this can only transfer the topics to the new forum.

              any other tips?

We would need to know what you mean by "defects", however there is no way to do what you want, the database structures between vB4 and vB5 are completely different. The only solution will be to find the problem and see if it is fixable.

                  Thank you Mark!

but I'm only dealing with VB5, without any relation to VB4 or any other version. always VB5.
I will not relate the problems that I have, because, in addition to many, will cause much confusion on this topic. I'll put them on separate topics to treat each one objectively. I think it will be better for me and also for those who want to help in the solution.

In this topic, I would like to address just one question: is there any way to only transfer the topics from a database in version 5 to a completely new forum installation, also from version 5? if so, could you explain it clearly and objectively?
but if there is no way, no problem, okay?

                  thanks!!
