Looks like an addon. Do you have any addons that popup user information when you hover over their Avatar? I'd look there.

No addons on this particular site, and I did strip out all the additional css and was able to replicate the problem.

As I mentioned earlier it was using on an iphone running os12.0.1

That seems to be the topic hover preview which is a built-in feature but style is customized. Though on mobile that popup would only appear if you long-press a topic title since touch devices don't have real hover event.

I am currently using iOS 12.1 beta 3 and cannot recreate this issue in either Safari or Chrome. The preview doesn't work in either because the browsers open their own menus. If I do a light press and hold instead of a hard press and hold, Safari switches into Peak mode which is outside of the software's control.

What are the exact steps you're undertaking to have these show? Start after you log into the site.

A member on vBulletin.org just reported the same issue and said ForumRunner was causing it.

New vBulletin 5 sites should not have Forum Runner code installed. Forum Runner is deprecated and no longer supported.

I just noticed that it only happens when I'm NOT logged in.

I merely go to any post, then use the go back button using safari browser on my iphone.

I have noticed it on other vB sites running a different version. (5.4.4 and 5.4.3).

This just started so I'm leaning towards iPhone or Safari more than anything.

FWIW I cannot replicate it here, or on Glenn's site.
