In the AdminCP go to Settings -> Options -> Message Posting and Editing Options. Change the value of the Maximum Characters Per Topic/Post Title setting. The default is 85 characters. The database allows up to 512 characters. -

private message impossible to send whenr eacting on a discussion with a long title
Hi,
Il don't know if this issue has already been identified, but when you click on the message icon beside the member name to send him a private message, the title of the PM discussion is automatically set to "about discussion : ..." (i am in french but i guess it is something like that in english).
If the original disucssion has a long name, the "about discussion :" gets the pm discussion title to be too long to be sent. And since you have no way to change the title, this is kind of a dead end...

We have Vb Messenger turned off globally, and no Vb Messenger permission set to yes in the Usergroup. This is just basic PMs.

I've noticed that there is an 85 or 120 character limit (however it is set at
Admin CP > Settings > Options>Message Posting and Editing Options )
