  • Help: Moved topics have disappeared

I got a message from a member that his topic went missing. So I check the logs and it was moves (together with some other topics).
54197 Admin 02:49, 30th Mar 2017 Node moved by Admin
    auteur = Memberxxx; fromnodeid = 58; fromtitle = outdoor; tonodeid = 1277589; totitle = 2016; nodeid = 45043; title = topic title
Most topics that were moved are still there, but I lost more then 30 topics from different members. They invested a lot of time in this and now there gone.

After the moving of these topics there is no log of these topics (deleted or anything again).
It looks like topics that were moved in the same 'batch' are still there and some are missing.
I am afraid that mass moving topics will make them disappear again. So how can I find out what happened?

If you search your node table for these entries, are they still in there OK? Have you tried rebuilding Topic/Forum information from AdminCP > Maintenance > General Update Tools?

      Thanks Trevor for your reply!

I have searched a topic that was moved (nodeid = 42554 in my moderator log), in the table 'node' and it is still there.
That is a relief, but rebuilding the forum / topic info did not bring them back?

I have checked more topics and there still in the node table.

Any more ideas? Should i make a ticket?
I am losing quite some important topics from the SERP's and my members are very dissatisfied that all their hard work is gone.
I need to fix this a.s.a.p.

If you add '/node/42554' to the end of your URL (i.e. domain.tld/forum-path/node/42554), do you see the topic in question?

No this does not help in displaying the topics that have disappeared.

Al topics that were moved @ 02:46, 30th Mar 2017 are still there. And in the moderator log there is a hyperlink to the topics.
All the topics that were moved @ 02:47, 30th Mar 2017 have disappeared and there is no hyperlink in the logs.

So what can I do now?

When you run "select * from node where nodeid=42554" what is the parentid? Is that a valid channel on your site?

The parent ID is 58. And that is an existing channel on my forum.

The channel were the topics were moved to is: (Node ID: 1277589) That is a subforum of (Node ID: 58)

Thanks for your help. what is the next step?

If the parentid is 58, it hasn't been moved yet. When you scan the list of topics in that channel, do you see this topic?

No, there are only a handful of topics there that were created in 2017.

Would it be a good idea to make a ticket so one of your team members can look into this issue?

I created a ticket and waiting for reply. While testing I encountered something strange.

I can not create any new channels! The last channel I created nodeid 1277589 has these problems.

I have looked up the node table and searched for the parentid what is 'kweekverslagen'
                        select * from node where nodeid = 58 \G
                        nodeid: 58
                        title: Kweekverslagen
                        htmltitle: Kweekverslagen

I created a new subforum called 'kweekverslagen 2016' which was nodeid 1277589

                        Now:
                        mysql> select * from node where nodeid = 1277589 \G
                        Empty set (0.00 sec)

It doenst exist in the table node while all other subforums like 'kweekverslagen 2015' nodeid 122:
                        mysql> select * from node where nodeid = 122 \G
                        *************************** 1. row ***************************
                        nodeid: 122
                        title: Kweekverslagen 2015

Now when i try to create a new subforum like 'kweekverslagen 2017' it doens't create anything anymore.

We also checked the text table and looked at nodeid of a topic that has disappeared the content is still there. We need a way to revert the changes what this move did. All the ids are there in the log so it shouldn't be hard only i don't know in what tables i need to update the new forumid to the old one.

Now when we go to our site /node/1277589 we go to the correct subforum 'kweekverslagen 2016' so it does exist somewhere. Some topics were moved here and some didn't and disappeared.

I just moved 2 topics (not simultaneously but separate), and got this error on the second one:

                          error_loading_move_form

Error information: " 200 parsererror SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected non-whitespace character after JSON data at line 1 column 2 of the JSON data"
                          Is this a known bug?

No... What was the title of the moved topic? What is the title of the channel?

The second time I moved it it went fine:

fromnodeid = 48; fromtitle = Kweken voor beginners; tonodeid = 72; totitle = Bladproblemen; nodeid = 1279744; title = Blad probleem amnesia haze

Have you seen my reply on the support ticket? Why can I find those nodes and you can not?
Also creating a new channel is not possible anymore.
