  • Url Rewrite of profile.php private.php

I upgraded from vbulletin 4 to vbulletin 5.
On my forum topics there are many links to: profile.php and private.php
And they don't work no more:

Invalid Page URL. If this is an error and the page should exist, please contact the system administrator and tell them how you got this message.
Should these links: profile.php and private.php automatically be rewritten in the htacces file? Or should i add some rules?

The thinking behind the rewriting of URLs from vB4 to vB5 is to preserve search engine results and rankings as much as anything....private.php and profile.php are never picked up in search engines as they are not 'public' pages.

I am not worried about the SEO for these pages. But rather for the useability. Since these linked are in multiple topics all over my forum.

The links to the help page from (/faq.php) is redirected properly.

How can i get the profile and private message link working again?
Should VB5 do this automatically after i had upgraded from VB4?
If so something went wrong and i can't find out what exactly.

As I said, those pages do not redirect. There is no option to make them do so, you would need to write your own rewrite rules in .htaccess.

You could also log an improvement request in the tracker to request this to be added in a future version. This isn't guaranteed to happen though, and will likely take a long time even if it does.
