  • I want a faster forum

    I'm trying to trouble shoot some bottlenecks. I cannot tell if my server just isn't beefy enough or if VB5 is just naturally slow. At first I had apache+php+MySQL all running on one server. In an attempt to speed things up, I now have the following setup:
    server 1: nginx+php
    server 2: squid for static content (also the only public facing server)
    server 3: MariaDB server master
    server 4: MariaDB server slave (not working right and VB support says it won't work until bugs are fixed on their end)

    This vps "cluster" setup has sped up the forum by a few milliseconds, but it's still obnoxiously slow. Each server is only allowed 1 cpu core, which is why I tried my best to split up each service to be on it's own vps.

    I thought I would ask for recommendations here before I take drastic measures and do hardware upgrades.
