Is there a limit to how many emails can be sent out at one time via the quick set up email invite? As an example can batches be sent out say 100, 500, or 1000?

No limit that I am aware of but it may be limited by your server settings. Many hosting companies have bulk email limits these days. However you can usually work around this using an SMTP server. You can set that up in AdminCP under Settings -> Options -> Email Options.Translations provided by Google.
