  • SSL Login problems

    This page https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/...tall_ssl_login states there is an option :

    //$config['baseurl_login'] = 'https://www.yourdomain.com/folder';

    that should be located in config,php

    As there are now 2 x config.php files (one in root folder and one in /core/includes) i have checked both and from what it states, it seems it should be in the root folder version...

    We do not have that option as you can see

    // ****** System Paths ******

    // ****** Cookie Settings ******
    // These are cookie related settings.
    // This Setting allows you to change the cookie prefix
    // This must match the core/includes/config.php file cookie prefix setting
    $config['cookie_prefix'] = 'xx';
    Should it be missing?

    I notice it is also not in the original file config.php.bkp that is in the /upload folder of the raw vbulletin 5 code.

    Are the instructions wrong or out of date? Or do I have a problem with the upgrade that we made from v4 to v5?

    Could this be related to our other problem where users cannot see the "Open/Close Topic" option after a page reload.

    Could this be related to our other problem of users sig pics not showing after the upgrade from v4 to v5.. We are just seeing the text "sigpic" in small case where pictures should be showing. See http://forums.ebid.net/forum/your-in...tions-2/page11 as an example.

    Another example of this problem is :
    http://forums.ebid.net/forum/your-in...-on-the-forums -> http://screencast.com/t/D3tGErMR4 -> OK
    http://forums.ebid.net/forum/your-in...tions-2/page10 -> http://screencast.com/t/meYShrr0WzE -> BROKEN SIGPIC
    Same user, same permissions, same everything.

    We are having so many problems with v5 of vb. I do wish we had never upgraded, it has caused us endless negative feedback from our customers.

    If you can give us fixes for the SSL LOGIN and SIGPIC problems it will be appreciated. We have another thread running for the problem with the OPEN/CLOSE TOPIC problem.

    In vB5, you will need to set the three URL settings to the https versions, and then redirect http to https at server level.

      Little confused, Are you saying https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/...tall_ssl_login is incorrect?

      What 3 URL settings?

      Can you point me to the documentation for this pls, your reply was a little vague.

      Any ideas about the signature problem?

          The documentation relates to vB3 and vB4. In vB5 things work a little differently and at this time the documenttion has not been updated to reflect.

          Once you have the URL settings correct, the sigpic issue should resolve itself, though you may need to rebuild attachment thumbnails.

            The title on that page of the documentation does state Enabling SSL Logins in vBulletin 5 Connect so that may make other users like myself think it is relevant for version 5. Maybe best to change it so that other won't spend hours trying to figure out that the settings are in the admincp and not in config.php like I had to. I think I found the page via Google.

            Where can i rebuild attachment thumbnails? I can see Rebuild Custom Avatar Thumbnails and Rebuild Avatar Thumbnails in the AdminCP > Maintenance > General Update Tools section but cannot see any reference to Attachment Thumbnails. We currently serve them form the database..could that the reason?

            Thx.
