  • Gif attachments don't work

Hi, when I post a gif as an attachment it does not animate.

I have tried increasing attachment max limits but it doesn't fix the issue.

If the gif went over its limits (height, width, or filesize) it gets resized, even if its under the thumbnail limit. This will remove the animation.

Like I said I already increased the max limits, way above the default.

What does that mean? Thumbnail settings will effect the gif animations? If so what do I change in the thumbnail settings?

Animated gifs are huge. They have several "layers". The way vBulletin handles images, anything other than the smallest animated gif is likely to be processed and thus lose its animation.

Ah I understand, it counts every single layer... So a 1000 x 1000 gif with 20 layers would be be 20000 x 20000 if I understand correctly.

          All good now, thanks.
