  • Is really vb5 is slower than vb4?

I recently upgrade my forum vb4.2.2 to vb5.1.7
This is a important issue. The loading speed of vb5 is much less than vb4. So that sometimes when I want to open a topic, It takes about 10 seconds!
Users are complaining of this problem.
I am using a powerful host rather than vb4 host! Is really vb5 is slower than vb4?
How can I increase loading speed of forum? which settings would be changed?
    Thanks.

Performance depends on several factors. However yes, it can be slower. One of the drawbacks of a modular system with different views per user.

What kind of server are you one?

It sometimes takes about 10 seconds to load pages. Is there a problem?
I want to know this issue is related to host or VB5?
        Thanks a lot.

Don't know how you have vBulletin configured. If you're not using an OPCode cache and have a large site, it can cause problems. If you're including a lot of extra modules on pages then it can cause problems. If you're on a dedicated server and not using Sphinx for searching, then you're not reaching your full potential.

Looking at your site, the time to first byte is a bit high. What are the size of your cache tables in the database?
