The report post button is missing.....

its enabled in BOTH permissions areas

I can still see the Flag button in the post footers on this site. Any other changes on your site? What version of PHP are you using?

PHP 5.4.40

I thought the idea was that when a user clicks "Flag" it then puts the flag'd post into a thread via the AdminCP>Options>Infactions and Posts

Setting:

Post Reporting Discussion Forum
A discussion topic can be created for each reported post for moderators to discuss the post further. Choose a forum for the discussion topics to be created in.

I have set a Area for this but nothing appears

ALSO - Can i rename the button "flag" to Report as its confusing users

That setting isn't used anymore. It will appear under Flag Reports on your Messages page.

You can run a search for the phrase Flag in the AdminCP and change it. Languages and Phrases -> Search for Phrases.

so that setting will be ripped out at some point, mods/admins need to go to the message center to see...i got it..

when I change "Flag" to something else like "Report" I get

Not sure why. My test sites run with 64 MB allocated and I don't have this issue. What is the specific name of the phrase you're editing?

The option to have the Flag reports in a separate channel? Because it isn't necessary anymore. Flag Reports already go into their own "Channel" and it is displayed on the Moderator's Message Page.

It isn't necessary to who? Removing an option because the developers don't find it necessary is a reason to remove a feature? Was the community asked if they would like this feature removed? I honestly prefer to have the threads created for reported post and a another one for infractions. It's more convenient for me and my mods especially since it's what we are use to.

Also what if I don't want all of the moderators to receive the notifications about who was reported or who was given infractions. I was able to block specific people from viewing that section of the forums before. Just an example...

Since people are actually paying for to use vBulletin isn't it best to ask find out from the community before removing something?

If I come off as rude I apologize. I in no way mean to offend anyone and maybe most people don't feel the same as myself. These are simply my opinions.

The way reports function in vB5 was changed. I'm sorry that it doesn't suit you, but that is how it is now.
Different things suit different people, the old system wasn't always popular so the developers changed it to something else.

The option was only there previously because there was no way to view the Flag Reports otherwise. A permanent display area was added. Having options just to have options isn't good software design nor can we ask customers every time a change is necessary to the software.
