  • Wrong forwarding after upgrade?

    Hi,

my old VB 4.2.2 forum was at www.pedicabforum.com/forums - then I decided to upgrade to 5.1.7 and installed a new folder at www.pedicabforum.com/forum (singular - with "S" at the end).

So far so good. Forum is up...but now I have twice "forum" in the Url and it does not find the postings...

    http://www.pedicabforum.com/forum/forum/new-to-this-forum-start-here/introduce-yourself

Any idea what I should do?

When I start to open a thread I get the message in the attached image....

I guess this is not a htaccess problem - when I rename the .htaccess to .htaccess1 for example I will still have the same error http://www.pedicabforum.com/forum/forum/new-to-this-forum-start-here/introduce-yourself

Any idea how to solve it?

    Thank you

    Hi all,

is there any freelancer who could help? My forum is offline since a couple of days due the upgrade from 4.22 to 5....

    www.pedicabforum.com/forum

Please open any thread / posting to see that it does not work...for any reason it comes out in the URL

    http://www.pedicabforum.com/forum/forum/new-to-this-forum-start-here/introduce-yourself

    and not http://www.pedicabforum.com//forum/new-to-this-forum-start-here/introduce-yourself

I do not have the skills to solve it alone - so any help woulb be welcome.

    Thank you

OK, with some help I finally got rid of the unnecessary double /forum out of the Url. But still a couple of issues:

When I click on the Logo or even if I type the clean domain y get Url with /forum?r= at the end. See here: http://www.pedicabforum.com/
Is there any way I can get rid of the somewhat strange looking "?r="?

      A bigger problem though:
I can't open any single topic!!!!
I can navigate through all categories, subcategories and (sub)cChannels, but whenever I want to open a single Thread just nothing happens!!!

I've been playing around with the permissions but I'm not getting anywhere.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

        Don't see a ?r= on your URLs

What browser are you using? What if you disable all your browser extensions.

What is the error you receive when you try to create topics?

I tried on Firefox and Opera.
Just now also tried Chrome, there it doesn't happen

If I try to create a new Topic y get the following error message:
Somehow there is at least one invalid database record. You have a channel with no valid route. Please contact the site administrator with this message and tell them how you got it.

Our forum www.pedicabforum.com is not usable....nobody can make any posting. It seems it was the biggest mistake to upgrade from 4.2.2. to 5 and a waste of money.

Nobody can even read a single posting.

Sorry Wayne, but I am really disappointed. It seems that VB is not what is was some years ago.

Is support a "One-Man-Show" and you are doing all this support for the Swiss-Cheese alone?

                  Questions:

                  1. Is there a way to downgrade?
                  2. Is there a money back warranty?

                    1. Downgrade from 5 to 4.2.2 was successful. To everybody: ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS of your database and files before running any update....
                    2. Is there any way to get my money, 199 USD, back from Vbulletin?
