Voted, thanks.
Just a little worrying that this goes back to 2013...

That's by design to have no topics under categories. The issue here is category pages should have no Topic tab.

Go to Site Builder -> Edit Page, and use the pencil icon to edit the module saying "no messages found." Check the settings of the module, it may be limiting content by type or date, you may need to change those settings to see all available content.

Hi TLMD,
I don't have empty categories, they all contain forums.
I do have a category that contains only one forum/channel.
I think most users visiting that page just leave, thinking there are no messages.
This did not happen in vb4 (just checked), I would see this more as a bug than as an improvement request...

A category is pretty much just a 'container' that needs to hold forums (channels) in order to allow to display/create topics. The fact that it says 'No Topics Found.', although (without a forum/channel) you can't even post at all, seems to be 'as designed'.
Maybe there is a situation where you want to create a category without any (sub-)forums/channels, but I can't imagine such situation to be honest. And even if you have (sub-)forums/channels and you click on the category itself, below the actual channels you will still see the 'No Topics Found.' part. Maybe an improvement request to remove that block does already exist.

forum category question
Hi,
Is it by design that on a forum category page, it still says "no messages found"?
See example, images attached

by wedgarThe proper category should be Amateur Radio Forums, yet the category displayed is ATV's. That is shown in the first picture.
In the board, the forums are organized under the proper category...2 Photos-
