slider showing no image, not even default

Now works, but I have needed to click edit, and then:

1.click attachment icon
2.remove (but why does a click on the attachment icon prompt me to remove?)
3.add again as attachment

Edit: step 3 > just need to add the one picture that you want in the slider

for information: these threads came from the moderating queue

have tried:
- moving attachments to database -> nok
- removing photos from thread, adding them again as admin -> now slider shows default "no image" image -> but any message edit, it goes back to blank. Also, now shows photos added by admin of course, and... phrase photos_by_x_in_y_linked is now incomplete (missing thread title)

The attached images for the 2 posts are missing for some reason.

so the slider background turns white because it is set to a non-existent image
