How can I change these icons?

I would like to change the new post icon, last post icon, and the thread icons beside each thread. I have a new file for each that I am ready to link but I don't know what do put in my css file (I am new to css). Can someone please help me. I have included a picture which outlines the icons I would like to change. Thanks.

Also wondering if it's possible to delete the the post icons altogether? the ones beside the thread names. I might decide to do that instead of changing them

I think you need to work with the files you find under /images/css (sprite_icons_vb_ltr.png, sprite_icons_vb_rtl.png) in your vB5 installation directory.

I'm using cloud. So can i just use a replacement variable?
