  • Login get's me back at the login screen + Error loading forum category

    Hello,

Just did an upgrade from vB4 to vB5 (Beta 25) on my localhost.

    rewrite_module is enabled.

Whenever I login I get back at the login screen. So basically I'm not logged in.
Same thing for AdminCP & for main forum.
    When I get redirected I see a :
    vB/admincp/?random_numbers_letters
    I guess that's a session link?

Also, if I click a normal forum category I get this:

An internal error has occurred and the module cannot be displayed.

Same thing if I click blog. Same thing if I go directly to a topic.

However I can see a user profile page.

    THanks

Do you have the same problem with a fresh install (not an upgrade)?

What version PHP and MySQL on the server?

What was the original version you installed and have been upgrading?

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

Can you try a 4.2.0 to beta 25 upgrade?

I did an upgrade from vB5(Beta 24) to vB5(Beta 25) The front page is fine, but when entering the topic does not appear. Also only the text "An internal error has occurred and the module cannot be displayed." in that module. Edit page -> And that module name is module. And Add Module list not contain "module" namet module.

Do you have the required .htaccess file uploaded to the server?

                    $config['baseurl'] = 'http://localhost/vB';

And for the forum that was newly installed and works I have:

                    $config['baseurl'] = 'http://localhost/vbfresh';

P.S. It seems that my thread has been merged with someone elses and it seems a bit strange.

                    - - - Updated - - -

Hmm... did a login on the live website that still uses 4.2.0 and it turns out I have a missing table, the adminlog table.

Is there a way to do a database check to see what's missing?

Again, the upgrade from 4.2.0 to vB5 beta 25 went perfectly fine on my localhost. I can see the forum, posts, I just can't view forums and I can't login front end and backend.

We have no merged your thread - someone else is posting in it instead of starting their own thread about their own problem.

Have you tried running the upgrade.php script again and seeing if that adds the table?

Just did an upgrade from patch 1 to patch 3 to on live server. It didn't added the table.

Any ideas on how to fix my login on the localhost for vB5 & see the topics/forums ?

patch 1 to patch 3? If this is a vB4 issue, you need to post in the vB4 support forum.

                            I have 3 sepparate issues.

                            1. I have a missing table in my vBulletin 4. I need to find a way to see if there are more tables.
                            2. I did an upgrade on localhost from vB4 to vB5. Update went fine however I still can't login in the front/back end. I just get thrown back where I was.
                            3. I can't view a forum or a topic because I cat that "module load error".

P.S. The missing table also wasn't created when I upgraded to vB5.

                              1. You should be able to get the missing table schema from the /install/mysql-schema.php file.

                              2. Did you make sure to change the Forum URL to the new one for your localhost site before taking the database backup that you transferred to localhost to test the upgrade on?
