Just upgraded on my test site - is it me or does the search feature not work?

It works but you will need to rebuild the search index.

AdminCP > General Update Tools > Rebuild Search Index

Bear in mind if it's a large site, this is quite a server intensive process and can take a long time to run.

Thanks Mark, since that was on my test site, will i have to rebuild my search index again after I upgrade my production site?

Yes, as you will be using a different copy of the database.

For a test site, if the database is huge, probably isn't worth rebuilding the search index just for testing. Though it won't do any harm.

Thanks again Mark. Finished rebuilding and it works great. What would make it stand out if it highlighted the word from the search phrase =]

I don't think the highlighting thing works in vB5.

May be worth logging this as an improvement request:
