    Those aren't PHP errors and a missing custom 404 page or favicon shouldn't give you a blank page. You may need to ask your host for details of what's in the PHP Error Log

    Hi Trevor,

    1. was a Perrmission denied with a vB5 skin. Can't reproduce it now .. didn't screnshot it
    2. Whatever the root /forum or /forum/admincp/ browsed, each URL brings 2 lines in error_log :
    [Wed Jan 02 13:50:44 2013] [error] [client 96.245.82.138] File does not exist: /[root]/public_html/404.shtml[Wed Jan 02 13:50:44 2013] [error] [client 96.245.82.138] File does not exist: /[root]/public_html/favicon.ico

    Thanks

    1. What was the specific message you're receiving denying access?

    2. What's showing in your PHP Error logs for the times of the blank pages?

    vb 3.8 -> vb5 - upgrade went through.. but 2 issues

    Hi,

    The bug I had upgrading to vB5 beta 21 is resolved with beta 23:
    This SQL Query would go into an error due to a MySQL memory limit.
    UPDATE vb_node AS n
    INNER JOIN vb_text AS t ON t.nodeid = n.nodeid AND n.hasphoto = 0 AND n.hasvideo=0
    SET n.hasphoto = 1 WHERE t.rawtext LIKE '%[attach%';
    former post for records here

    So, I did updated my DB to vB5 and all was ok. Modules and Plugins have been disabled first.
    => Issue 1 : I could not connect as a user to the root of forum, a Deny access right would be showed to me.

    Ok.. I logged as the admin to the ACP and went through some menus, adding removing styles.. nothing fancy as the default one would always be vB5..

    => Issue 2 : After 10 minutes, I have an error message that showed up.. "the page cannot be rendered" on the ACP and the same message was shown on the forum root (browsable only with the Admin) and now, blank pages..
    Should you like the forum url : http://www.ezprit-motard.org/forum/

    I tried the tips there
    - .htaccess, repair vb_template table, re upload the forum in ascii nothing really helped.

    The code in return shown in the page is (with the good < and > just replaced for the view on the forum) :
    HTML Code:
    (!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN")(HTML)(HEAD)(META content="IE=8.0000" http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible") (META content="text/html; charset=windows-1252" http-equiv=Content-Type)(/HEAD)(BODY)(/BODY)(/HTML)

    Maybe you would have some things that I could do on the SQL or file system back to reset that ?

    Thanks for any idea.
    Pierrick
