Duplicate IP adresses

Hi,

I just realized that some members IP adress is the same as my IP adress.
Viewing the IP adress of members in the control panel recently i was surprised to see some of the older members with the same as me.

why is this so?
doesn't that mean if one member was banned, I would be banning myself and others with that same IP?

Banning by IP address is not a good idea, you should ban by username.
Are you using Cloudflare by any chance?

No I don't believe I'm using cloudflare, just a regular thing, what's cloudflare?

I have never banned a member but I was concerned if I did everyone would be banned with the same ip.
I didn't realise I could ban a user name, I thought a ban was to remove one from a forum, if it's just a user name then wouldn't they just sign up again?

anyway would the members with my IP address be an issue?

oh sorry I remember what cloudflare is now.
I actually tried to do the cloudflare thing a while ago but because my website has SSL it wouldn't work with cloudflare.
