  • Can't Reply

    Hello,

I'm having an issue where no user in any usergroup can reply to a topic. Even if you create a topic as an admin, you can't reply to your own topic.

I have been through the settings quite a bit and I'm not seeing anything that would prevent this. I must be doing something wrong though?

    Thanks.

What error do you get when you try to reply?

I can't even get that far. I don't even see a reply button when viewing a topic.

Is this a default forum or one your created? And if you created it, did you make sure it has a parent of Forum? And for the forum you added, is Act as Channel set to Yes?

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

          Hey Lynne,

This is a forum I created.

The forum has a parent forum and the Act as Channel is set to "yes".

This is occurring in Beta 19? If you're not using Beta 19, please upgrade as several issues regarding replying have been fixed in that version.

It started on Beta 15, but I upgraded to 19 yesterday and the issue is still there unfortunately.

Usergroups > Usergroup Manager > Choose Usergroup (use the admin one if it affects you too).

                Post / Topic Permissions

ChecK these two options are set to "Yes":

                Can Reply to Own Topics
                Can Reply to Others' Topics

You also need to check the Channel permissions, particularly the Homepage channel.

                      Channel Management -> Channel Permissions.

Everything looks good in the parent and sub forum Channel Permissions Wayne.

Can you try a fresh install of beta 19 and see if you still have the same problem?

That seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks.
