  • Cant find site builder

    upgraded from 4.2.0 P3, forum is up and running but when i log in and look at the top, i see:

    Messages | User Drop down

    that's all, there is no Site Builder On/Off Slide button.

    Have i missed something really easy ?

    I have had a search here but could not find anything to it missing, just issues with it sliding.

    Thanks in advance.

    AdminCP > Usergroups > Administrator Permissions > [Edit Permissions]

    You do have Can Use Site Builder enabled?
    Vote for:

    - *Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe*
    -
    *PM - Add ability to reply to originator only*
    - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s)
    - Highlight the correct navigation tab when you are on a custom page
    - "Quick Route" Interface...
    - Allow to use custom icons for individual forums

      Now comes bigger problems.

      Sorry, you are not allowed to edit administrator permissions.

      If you think you should have permission to access this page, you will need to edit the $config['SpecialUsers']['superadministrators'] variable in the includes/config.php file.

      To allow the administrators to access this page, edit the variable to include the user IDs of those administrators should have access, separating each user ID with a comma, like this:

      $config['SpecialUsers']['superadministrators'] = '1,25,57';

      To allow only a single administrator to access this page, simply add that user's ID with no commas, like this:

      $config['SpecialUsers']['superadministrators'] = '1';

      However, my ID is in that section in the includes/config.php

        So you are in the Administrator usergroup and you also have your userid listed in the core config.php file?

        Do you have any caching on your server?

          Im the only administrator.

          Pass ! do you mean server (host) or Server (vBulletin) ?

          Ive seen settings for Caching in vBulletin but as a rule, if you dont know what it is, dont touch it. so i have never knowingly turned anything off/on

            Server would always mean host. vBulletin is an application, not a server.

                Microsoft Exchange server is an application but also a server, thats why i asked. so in this case thanks for clearing it up.

                Not that i am aware of.

                - - - Updated - - -

                Just logged into my host (Dreamhost) and under the domain the only section i see for caching is PHP XCache Support but this requires a VPS which i don't have.

                the PHP is 5.3.x FastCGI if that's relevant

                    It might be... There is an outstanding bug on this... vbv-2223

                    Could ask your host to switch you to mod_php temporarily to test this or the may be able to move your account to a server that is set to mod_php.

                      I am having this same problem. I believe I am also running CGI instead of mod_php. It looks like mod_php5 is an option for me, but the server won't let me make that switch myself. Is this the only way to fix the problem?

                      I just realized that I am also running mod_fcgid, so I turned it off. That didn't help so I also turned off mod_cgi, which also didn't help, and I still can't seem to turn mod_php5 on or off myself.
