Is the head line for posts removed?

I have just made a test installation of vB5 and realize that some important things for me seems to be missing. Maybe is there just some settings I haven´t figured out that I should check?
This question is about the head line for each posting in a topic. When upgrading it seems that vB5 puts all my head lines in the text field. Is that right?

More information would help. I don't know what you mean by "headline".

Sorry about that. I mean the title field as shown on the image from vB4. I use vB for a site collecting and sharing knowledge in form of documents and the title field is the way to see what documents is collected within a topic. Also when searching for posts that gives an overview of what is in the post. Otherwise the search in posts are rather useless for me if it only shows the title field for the first posting in the thread.
I made an arrow pointing out the field I mean in the attached file.

vB5 doesn't actually have the ability to display the post title in every post like vB4 does.

Thanks for your answer. I am in the process of evaluating if i should move on to vB5 from vB4. I can see a couple of things you are removing that is vital for my use of vBulletin. Title in every post is one of them and threaded view is another. I would like to stay with vBulletin and wonder if someone could give me a clue if it is possible to add these two features as a mod? I mean by having someone develop that for me. Or is that a very big job?

The function i would need is to get an overview of a thread by seeing the first line in every post and being able to navigate within the thread by that overview.

Titles can be added into the posts themselves with a template edit which I'm happy to do for you if required, not sure about search results, I'd have to have a look.
Note though that all my edit does is show the actual thread title in every post - it doesn't allow individual posts to have a different title to the rest of the thread, as vB4 does.

Threaded view is unlikely to be seen, it's a major change to the software and it's something that not a lot of people require these days.

I would be tempted to say - what is prompting you to want to upgrade?
vB4 is still fully supported - the latest version is 4.2.2 and there's a beta for 4.2.3 available which improves php compatibility. Do really need to upgrade to 5, or would you better with 4.2.2?

The reason I am thinking about upgrading is to stay with the latest versions. There is no special feature in vB5 I am looking for. Maybe the best thing is to stay with vB4 then. However I am "stuck" at 4.1 since i think there was a change going to 4.2 that made one of my mods stop working. Since I had to do some work to get to 4.2 i thought it would be smarter to go all in to version 5.

But it might be that I stay with version 4.

Staying with 4 sounds sensible in your case.

What is the mod that was causing issues? The main major change between 4.1. x and 4.2.x was the addition of the navigation manager.

It was a while ago that i looked into it, but I believe it was the Hasann Sub-forum manager. But I am not sure.

I would consider asking for help with that (www.vbulletin.org) as off the top of my head i can think of no reason why it wouldn't work, unless it was a php compatibility issue of some sort.

Good idea. I think that will be my choice of action then. Upgrade to 4.2 and make sure that the plugins work for that.
